Environmental & Sustainability Policy
The Retaining Technologies Group (RTG) is committed to minimising where reasonably practicable, its impact on the natural environment and social surroundings for the benefit of current and future generations.
As advocates of sustainable engineering and construction practices, we are dedicated to curtailing the environmental impact of our own business practices, whilst aiding in the reduction of the carbon footprint of the wider construction sector.
Through our offering of innovative and sustainable products and providing ‘optimised’ engineered designs, RTG seeks to provide improved environmental and sustainably responsible engineering solutions to the construction industry.
We are committed to:
- Undertaking regular assessment of the environmental, social and community impacts of our business activities and those of our key stakeholders ensuring compliance and responsible practices.
- Holding employees, subcontractors, clients, suppliers and other key stakeholders accountable for proactively meeting their environmental responsibilities and obligations.
- Giving due consideration to the natural environment surroundings and habitat across all project phases, and where feasible, ensure engineered solutions are aesthetically respectful, by minimising impact to flora and fauna species, biodiversity, heritage, land and waterways.
- Being proactive in seeking to identify or pre-empt potential impacts to the environment and the community and implementing appropriate mitigation and control measures.
- Providing ‘value engineering’ through optimised designs, to increase construction efficiencies, utilising fewer precious resources, materials and minimising waste.
- Using sustainable products and systems where feasible.
- Practicing responsible resource use and waste management including promoting efficient use, reuse and the recycling of resources, both within our own business and for the projects in which RTG is engaged.
- Recognising resource scarcity through responsible procurement, and management of materials.
- Complying with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, statutory obligations and client environmental requirements.
- Ensuring this policy is actively communicated and adhered to by our employees, clients and key stakeholders.
